The deadline for buying a dog license in Mahoning County has been extended for one more month. Dog Warden Dianne Fry urges people to make the purchase before Feb. 28.

FRY: After the license season is over, then the fee doubles because you pay the license fee of $20 and then there’s a penalty of $20.

Fry says you can purchase a license at about 16 locations throughout the county including West Side Merchants, the Dog Pound or online.

About 31,000 dogs are registered each year in Mahoning County.
